It's a good month to live in Memphis (part duex)! →
Delta Fest is another great reason to get out in September! I took my daughter last year and we had a blast. I’ve looked at the line-up for this year, and all I really care about is seeing Cartel. Hey, we all have guilty pleasures. =)
I’ll be there Friday the 10th. If you see us, say hi!
Edit: I just noticed on the website that every day is wristband day! $20 for a wristband...

Cooper-Young Fest is an awesome all-day celebration with crafts, vendors, live music, and features local artist from all over Memphis. If you’ve never been, here’s a few tips to help you survive the chaos…
Take a water bottle. It gets hot with that many people cramped into a 5 block radius =)
Bring cash. You’ll need it.
If you have children, bring a stroller. It’s...

I need a Memphian
angstinmypants:
to tell me the best place to go to get my hair cut. Preferably in Midtown, preferably not expensive. Take it, Tumblr.
(I also need a Young & the Restless fan who takes screencaps to get me a picture of what’s been going on with Michelle Stafford’s hair recently, because that is EXACTLY the cut I want. Don’t judge me. For the soaps. The hair envy is entirely justified.)
So....

This made me think of the film that he is in: Uncle Sam: Wants You Dead. Perfect for your “bad movie nights”. Also, I recommend “Ankle Biters” about midget vampires and “Ax ‘em”

Perseid Meteor Shower →
The absolute best viewing is expected Thursday night - actually, between midnight Thursday and dawn on Friday. Perseid meteors should be visible every night from now until next week. At its peak, observers could see at least one meteor every minute, Cooke told me. You just have to know where and when to look - and the experience goes much more smoothly if you make a few preparations.
blossom-drenched asked: To answer the meteor question, I think it was at night august 11 into the morning of august 12. Because I have been laying in my backyard since 2am and I'm on my itouch and I lost count of how many shooting stars I saw. It was awesome watching it to Sigur Ros and Yindi Halda

As I was walking down Beale Street, there was an old man picking at an old guitar he held tightly between two weathered and worn hands. I stood and watched as his fingers flew across the strings of that old guitar His voice came on strong, singing of a broken heart and wounds that won’t heal. His guitar twanged and my heart leaped into my throat. His pain became my own as I...
